He’ll be back with a new page of info in July!
Don’t forget to send your favorite golf memory or
story for a chance to win FREE rounds of golf with a cart
                              to: golfplus3@netzero.com.
                              (details listed below)

Well, it’s here! June means golf has officially taken the final turn towards summer golf. And that means better weather (keep your fingers crossed) -and- time to get some “ducks” in a row!
(But) before we go over a little checklist involving our “to do’s” – I thought we could just have a little chat.
For many years now, I’ve had a great time (and a wonderful opportunity) to cover region golf through this column, writing feature articles on the many beautiful and diverse golf facilities in our area, (and) I look forward to continuing this throughout this golf season – involving – several of the courses that I have yet to cover.
(But) (again) – I wanted to first take a little pause to thank all those who have taken the time to write, e-mail or phone-in with so many great ideas, suggestions, and comments on how they view the job that we are doing.
So…as a way of expressing our appreciation – (and with the help of some of our golf course operators/owners) – I think we need to offer a little “reward of sorts” in the form of some FREE rounds of golf!
Tell me a story! Yeah, that’s right! Tell me any golf-related story…Examples might include a great day spent at your local course with family or friends …a person who introduced you to the game …why golf means something special to you or someone you know, etc. …any story that means something to you (or) anything you have heard over the years that you would like to relate to us all.
It does not have to be long – in fact – try to keep it to about (5 or 6) paragraphs …if your story is chosen, it will appear in this column in the (July 2017) edition of Golf Plus Newspaper, as well as, online for people throughout the world to read!! Details: Stories must be (in hand) at our office by June 30th, 2017 for us to view & review – by e-mail – so, e-mail your entry to golfplus3@netzero.com.
At the bottom of your entry, simply put something like Patti H. from Merrillville (&) include your phone number (only for our use *especially if Patti is single and likes gray-haired golf writers!) – the other submissions not selected will all be posted on-line at golfplusonline.net *if appropriate.* You know what I mean! Please, no (5-6) paragraph submissions of ba-ba-booey! etc.!
(And) the selected storyteller will receive (5) count them! (5) free passes for (2) rounds of golf with cart to some of our best local golf courses! – The winner will not be notified prior to the publication of July 2017’s edition of Golf Plus Newspaper (&) will have to pick up the paper just like everyone else to find out who won! *We will contact you as soon as the paper is distributed, obviously.
(Now) if you are reading this after the submission date – send me your story anyway. We may just want to publish it in the future! Good luck to all you call-in contestants -and- we are really looking forward to hearing some of your stories – Have fun with this!
  - See you next month – Pete
